Rose Cabat (June 27, 1914 – January 25, 2015)
She was an American studio ceramicist, classified as part of the mid-century modern movement who was best known for her innovative glazes upon small porcelain pots called 'feelies' often in the shape of onions and figs and bowls. The Feelies are very narrow-necked vases with her own distinctive satin matte glazes. Rose is one of the very few studio potters with both a national reputation and international exhibition credits. These include Switzerland, France, Brazil, Australia and many other countries. Her work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian's Renwick Gallery, the home of Vice President Mondale, and is in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
