Mitch Iburg is a ceramic artist developing a studio practice through connection to the natural world. Through the use of native clays, minerals, and wood sources he seeks to create work that reflects the intrinsic qualities of the landscape and its history. In 2011 Mitch received his BA in Fine Art from Coe College (Cedar Rapids, IA). From 2012-2014 he was the studio manager at The Cub Creek Foundation in Appomattox, VA and has since completed residencies at The Rochester Folk Art Guild (Middlesex, New York,) and Guldagergaard (Skaelskor, Denmark) during the 2nd European Wood Fire Conference. He is currently an Artist in Residence at Mendocino Art Center in California.
